It’s Magazine Day... Fountain Valley residents Bonnie Tucker and Kellie Hopkins visited Budapest in late 2023.

The 2024 National Public Works Week is scheduled for May 19-25. The theme this year is 'Advancing Quality of Life for All.' Cities across the nation celebrate Public Works Week to raise the public's knowledge of public works issues and increase awareness about industry professionals that are dedicated toward providing quality infrastructure and services which are vital to a community's health, safety and comfort.

Having a 'full house' at the Fountain Valley Community Foundation Charity Poker Tournament both in terms of attendance and, playfully, in poker terms, highlights the April 6 event's success and engagement from the community.

The City of Fountain Valley Egg Hunt was an egg-celent event. However, due to the Easter weekend weather conditions, the Recreation and Community Services Department had to pivot the event from outdoor to indoor.

► Charity poker tournament is April 6 The Fountain Valley Community Foundation will hold its spring charity poker tournament on Saturday, April 6 at the Center at Founders Village. “Deal a Helping Hand” is the theme of the tournament, with proceeds going toward the Foundation’s Community Grants Program, which supports local non-profits and community organizations such as youth sports, music and the arts, seniors, the Boys and Girls Club, the veterans banner program, emergency funding and more.

Tucked away on the corner of Slater and Beach is the Huntington Beach chapter of the Assistance League organization. Founded in 1930 by Ada Laughlin and Anne Banning, this national organization was created after the 1904 San Francisco earthquake.

In 1984, Caroline Charland rescued a rabbit from a bad situation. When she tried to find out how to properly care for a rabbit she learned that people simply put them in cages or hutches in their backyards.

The 10th annual Community Service Day is set to take place on Saturday, April 20 in Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach. The day-long event, sponsored by the Greater Huntington Beach Interfaith Council, brings together an array of volunteers, spanning all ages and interests, to embark on 40 impactful projects designed to enhance the local community.
