The 2024 National Public Works Week is scheduled for May 19-25. The theme this year is 'Advancing Quality of Life for All.'
Cities across the nation celebrate Public Works Week to raise the public's knowledge of public works issues and increase awareness about industry professionals that are dedicated toward providing quality infrastructure and services which are vital to a community's health, safety and comfort.
Public Works professionals design, manage and maintain streets, bridges, parks, public buildings, water, sewer, storm drain, and transportation systems.
They also provide support during disasters (natural and manmade) and are frequently the first to respond and last to leave.
