Gisler Elementary School recently showcased its vibrant community spirit with a Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) production of ‘The Little Mermaid.’

This production was led by a creative team of directors and choreographers at Top Hat 8 Repertory for the second year in a row. More than 100 students participated, forming three casts for six unforgettable shows.

The production wasn't just about entertainment; it was a journey of growth and learning for the students. They not only memorized lines and choreography but also developed essential life skills like teamwork, public speaking, resilience, confidence, empathy, and an appreciation for the arts.

Supported by dedicated teachers and parent volunteers, including the guidance of PTO Theater Chair Rachel Evans, and the invaluable support of Jody Brekke, a PTO parent and teacher, the production was a collaborative effort, reflecting the unity and camaraderie of the Gisler community.

In an era of digital distractions, initiatives like these remind us of the enduring power of live theater to inspire and unite. Gisler Elementary School continues to nurture its students' talents and foster a sense of community, leaving us eagerly awaiting their next production.
