For most people, the first thing that comes to mind about February is Valentine’s Day. This is the month of Love with a capital ‘L’ and this leap year is even better since we get an extra day of Lovin. What we love, who we love, and how we love all vary depending on the person, place, or thing. The ideal situation is to love and be loved in return. For example, I love my wife and daughters and they reciprocate by loving me and each other. Same with our dog and cat, though I have my doubts about the cat loving the dog.

We talk a lot about FV being a Nice Place to Live, but is it possible to love a city and have it love you in return? I asked a few of our advertisers and this is what they said: Michael Hohertz, owner of Fountain Valley Grocery Outlet, 'We have only been in this community for 5 years, but we love it like we were raised here. Three words say it best: Relationships, Culture, & Caring. We have been blessed to be welcomed into a community of love.' Terri Simes of Farmers Insurance, “I have loved Fountain Valley since our family moved here when I was 10. Four generations of my family currently live in FV, and my brother and I both have FV based businesses. I feel the love from our city every time we gather at the Concerts in the Park, or Easter and Holiday festivities put on by the city. It's wonderful to run into friends from high school and their kids and grandkids at these events, and it's great to meet new families who are still learning what FV has to offer. FV still has the 'small town' feel, even after 50 years of calling it home.” Nancy Andreason, owner of Andreason Group Realty, 'Fountain Valley has richly given back to our family. We moved here in 1985 and it's where we raised our five children. They were educated in our excellent school system and we all have lifelong friends from Fountain Valley.' John Etheridge, owner of Seashore Pest Control, “The line 'Fountain Valley is a nice place to live' is more than a line. I've experienced it for the majority of my life. I spent from ages 3-19 here with my parents, then I've been back since 2000 with my own family. Fountain Valley oozes community. People still help their neighbors here, and enjoy community picnics. People with political differences still enjoy meals together. It's how America used to be, and what's most beautiful about 'small-town' USA!”

It's easy to see why so many people call Fountain Valley home.
